Educated at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Ontario, Canada, Mike Mitchell began playing the violin at the age of five. His passion for music led him to a string performance major at Youngstown State University, and more than 10 years of national touring with rock and acoustic ensembles.

Currently, Mike performs with the acclaimed mountain music group, Blue Moonshine, Acoustic Endeavors, and Floyd Time. He lives in Floyd, Virginia with his wife and two children.
